Tom Tran, Ph.D., P.E. Joins DCI … Again

Earlier this year, Tom Tran returned as a familiar face at DCI. He previously worked at DCI from 1999 to 2005, and now he is back as Senior Vice President. The team is enthusiastic about the 42 years of experience Tom brings, beginning with a degree in architecture from Iowa State University, followed by a master’s degree in 1977 and then Ph.D. in 1979, with both of those degrees from Virginia Tech in civil engineering.

DCI is well known for its expertise in transportation engineering and design. Looking at the big picture, Tom will be collaborating with the team to grow its specialty offerings in the areas of Emergency Transportation Management and Intelligent Transportation Systems. A few of Tom’s individual responsibilities include managing the existing contracts in evacuation traffic management planning for DDOT, and homeland security-related planning for the Northern Virginia Police Chiefs.

Tom is guided in his work by two related principles. First is to take ownership of everything you do for your clients. Second, serve your clients as an extended member of their own staff. With beliefs like those, DCI is honored to have Tom back on the team.
