Citywide Streetlight Construction IDIQ Contract Package Development
DDOT solicits and awards citywide streetlight construction projects using Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts.
This contracting method creates a capacity to expedite project delivery through an on-call contractor that can be mobilized and working in a much shorter period than traditional project delivery methods. DCI has developed numerous contract packages for DDOT covering both both Federal-aid and local funding with base years and four (4) option years for a duration of five (5) years.
Contract package development first involves consolidation of all available special provisions and drawings. DCI modifies them as needed to be consistent with DDOT format using a standard template for all specifications to maintain uniformity. DCI also authors new specifications and additional drawings to comprehensively cover all possible construction elements. An exhaustive list of bid tabs are then developed to cover all eventualities. DCI also assists DDOT in preparing quantities and cost estimates by year and funding source using AASHTO’s Trns*port© Estimator software.
