Structural Engineering Design for Druid Lake Fountain Improvements

DCI prepared feasibility report and PS&E construction document of the Structural, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical plans, related specifications and engineer’s estimate.

The project involved design of new pumping station and rehabilitation of the existing fountain structure located inside the Druid Lake, a new boat ramp structure, suction discharge piping, and civil/site designs.

The new pumping station is one level partially underground concrete structure housing new 70 HP fountain pump and related electrical equipment. The suction piping and discharge piping are routed from the off shore pumping station to the Druid Lake supplying the water to the pump and the existing fountain nozzles. The piping required hydraulic analysis and vertical connections to the structure. DCI also performed the post award services for the duration of the project construction. The engineering services include attending the progress meetings, review of the shop drawings, review and respond to the Contractor’s RFI, review contractor’s change orders and on-site solutions for the problems involving adverse site conditions.
